But, everyone can find their people, whether it’s your first or your tenth opportunity to network with other authors.
Participants will learn tips for networking and making meaningful connections that last beyond the event, including the benefits of social media and online forums to start or continue a connection.
There are many paths to publishing: traditional, small press, vanity, independent... But they are not all created equal. This workshop will unpack each of these options and help writers determine which is the best path for them. It will also be jam-packed full of tips for each option
Grants are a fantastic way for authors to receive funding without having to pay back any money. There are many different types of grants available from government organisations to private foundations – some specifically tailored towards supporting emerging writers while others may be more general in nature.
This workshop will provide tips for finding grant opportunities, and unpack the anatomy of a grant application, including creative rationale, budgets, timeframes, biographies and finding support for your project.

Impostor syndrome refers to an internal experience of believing that you are not as competent as others perceive you to be. It is characterised by feelings of self-doubt, inadequacy and a persistent fear of being exposed as a "fraud," despite evidence of your accomplishments and competence. People with impostor syndrome often attribute their success to luck or external factors, rather than acknowledging their own abilities or skills.
Throughout the course of this workshop, participants will arm themselves with the tools and strategies to conquer their own personal demons, and create space for creativity while also building confidence within themselves.
